100% Snooze Proof Routine

"I'd like mornings better if they started later." ~Unknown

I think it very unique that the person that wrote this quote no one really knows. Before you read this article make sure to read, "The Morning Routine that Changed my Life." This is part 2 for creating life changing habits in the morning. How do I wake up an hour earlier than I normally do so I have time for these habits? Here are 5 steps that make you 100% snooze proof.

Step 1: Set your intensions before going to be

Create positive affirmations that will get you out of bed. If you think you are going to be tired waking up, you will definitely be tired waking up. Why is it when it's Christmas, first day of school, or birthday we wake up with a higher energy level regardless of the amount of hours we sleep? It is because we look forward to it and the day is framed in this positive mindset.

The idea is to build your affirmation in a way that would create a feeling of excitement. An example can be, "I am going to wake up full of energy tomorrow and do all these new things that will bring me closer to my goals." Try saying something like this right before you go to bed.

Step 2: Move your alarm clock across the room

By putting your alarm across the room it will prevent you from easily hitting the snooze button to go right back to sleep. You will also force yourself to stand up and move to turn off the alarm. By forcing your body to move you will be able to slowly create right amount of energy that will bring you out of bed to do these next steps.

Step 3: Brush your teeth

Doing more simple things at the start is will add to the energy created from prior steps and compound to enough energy you get you closer to wake up mode. For extra credit splash some cold water on the face to bring you up even more.

Step 4: Drink a full glass of water

After sleeping for 6-8 hours it is natural the body to be a little dehydrated. Often times we think we need some kind of pick me up but really we just need a little bit of water. Make sure to pre fill that glass of water the night before so you are ready to chug it right after you brush your teeth.

Step 5: Get dressed in you workout clothes

There are a couple of ways to do this. For some they sleep in their workout clothes so they are instantly ready to tackle their morning exercise routine. You can also pre lay it out in the bathroom so you are ready to get after it. When everything is laid out it is one less excuse that will put you back into bed and further away from your goals.

Step 6: Only if you are serious about your goals ;)

Take a 3-5 minute cold shower. Aside from some of the benefits like reducing stress levels, weight loss, and robust immune response. In that cold shower you gain higher levels of alertness because it is so cold. In addition, by starting your day off with doing something uncomfortable you have more will power to tackle anything challenging ahead of you.

Test these out for your self and see if works. Share your thoughts, comments, and share if you think it is a game changer for you. Read the "Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod it is a game changer!

"Your first ritual that you do during the day is the highest leverage ritual, by far, by far because it has the effect of setting your mind, and setting the context, for the rest of the day." ~Eben Pagan
